European Delivery 7/10 Confirmed + Itinerary
As of today my ED date is confirmed for 7/10. Here is my itinerary for my 10 day trip.
7/8 - Leave LAX 7/9 - Arrive Munich 7/10 - Pickup Day! 7/11 - Head to Neuschwanstein Castle then drive to Innsbruck for the night 7/12 - Drive Silvretta Hochalpenstrabe, Stelvio Pass, and spend the night in Bormio 7/13 - Head to Lake Como and maybe check out Milan. 7/15 - Head to Zurich driving through Tremola, Oberalp Pass. If time permits I will drive Grimsel Pass, Furka Pass, St Gotthard Pass, Susten Pass 7/16 - Straight shot Zurich to Stuttgart. Looking for nice places to drive/visit on the way. 7/17 - Stuttgart to Munich 7/18 - Drop off car and head back home. Anyone else going to be here? Any suggestions on what I should see? I still need to map out restaurants. I believe I'll be close to some Michelin star places which I'll have to check out. Michael |

I'll be in Munich towards the end of your trip! That last night actually, I pick up on the 17th. If you come across anything in terms of must-visit locations (Michelin star sounds fantastic) feel free to pass it along. Also planning to hit the Hofbrauhaus that Thursday night, think there might be one or two others on the boards going for delivery around that time so.. maybe we all run into each other.

Mercedes museum in Stuttgart is cool, but it's huge. You could hit high points in 3 hours or so, though.

There is a lot of good stuff to do around Garmisch/Partenkirchen -- see my ED thread, link in my bottom sig -- so you might want to consider spending day/night there. Great drive from there over to Italy; I love some of the smaller roads now and then, kind of neat to have to wait to let the goats move off the road, discover a lunch spot without any other cars, etc.
Not big on Stuttgart. But hey, you cannot go wrong cruising around europe. Drive and explore! And take lots of photos to post up here.

Thanks!
Also, this month's Top Gear Dream Drive is A95 Munich-Garmisch. "It's derestricted, so choose a quiet day." "The final, 12-Mile southbound stretch" is the best bit. |
