BMW Hitch enhanced iDrive functionality

I've asked this question in another forum as well, but I'm a bit desperate. I'm hoping someone that's had the BMW hitch installed can answer a question. It was my understanding that with the BMW hitch installed, we are supposed to get enhanced idrive trailering functionality such as additional reverse camera zoom modes. In fact, when I look up the specific towing kit part numbers online, the description for the lighting module (required for towing package) says: "Augmented iDrive interface for backup cameras and parking guides" This doesn't seem to be available for me.

Can someone please confirm these additional camera features work for them?

It seems my dealer didn't do the proper coding to enable these features.

I don't have a hitch but I've seen coding options that specifically reference this.

It may be market specific to Europe.

I have the electrically folding hitch (in europe) With the rear view camera enabled (when reversing) I have the option to view the towing hitch from a vertical perspective. Theres a guide line superimposed on the video originating at the centre of the tow ball, the angle of which changes in response to steering angle, to make hitching up simpler.

It seems we are both posting here and at the fest. Thanks for finding the pic. I've forwarded that to my local service dept to ask whether I got "coded" correctly.

I am having the US version of the Class III hitch installed later this week. It's not the European style folding hitch, which is not offered here, so not sure if the reverse camera operates differently than what saggo posted. I'll let you know by the weekend how the rear view camera nodes are affected.

On the e70 for USA markets the zoom mode was available after vehicle codling for hitch.

Be interested to know if it's possible to disable rear PDC on the F15. This was always a issue in the past when you used a bike rack in the hitch receiver.

The hitch zoom view is most certainly NOT AVAILABLE in US. I was at dealership and they showed me the promotional literature that plainly states as such.

If you can code the Head Unit CIC or NBT, change this value to aktiv and you will see the Trailer Zoom Option.
