Tire and Rim Protection $1,900

I was quote $1,900 in NNJ for Tire and Rim Protection. I think that is grossly expensive, what are your thoughts?

Unless you previously went though a bakers dozen of tires then I would say its largely aN unnecessary expense. Put that 1900 in the bank and feed off it in the event of a tire or wheel replacement and pocket the rest if you don't use it.

Thanks. Also, I'm considering swapping for non RFT's. Just hope the rims will be intact for the next 3 years (knocking on wood).

I was charged $795 for Tire and Rim Protection on a class III (most expensive) tire & rim combination on the 2014 X5 I picked up on Saturday. Sounds like your dealer might be trying to rip you off to the tune of at least $1,105.

I have been quoted $1100 for 5 years. $1900 is definitely absurd

Can you add the wheel and tire package after purchasing the car?

Yes. Tenafly. I like the dealership, I like the Sales Associate but $1,900 is really expensive. I think I got an okay lease deal but $1,900 is too rich for me.

No! According my guy at BMW you can't add the tires & wheels protection afterward. Also, I paid $1100 for the tires & wheels protection.

My protection is just for 3 years, the length of my lease.

I was offered Tire and wheel protection for my X5 but I denied it.. I did get a slow leak puncture on one tire which I replaced with a new one for $300... My lease is up next year and so far I have not had the bad luck of being able to take advantage of the protection... at least not $1,600 worth.. Then again I have 19" rim with all season tires...

Mine was $1100 for 5 years. Each tire is worth $400 and these are run flat tires.

Is there a deductible? If a tire developers a leak, what is the process? It sure sounds like there is a variance in amounts paid for this protection.
