Can my oil sensor be faulty?

My car has taken 9.25 liters (not QT!) of oil and is still showing a notch below full. I initially put in 8.2 QT and it said I need to add 1 QT. I did and it was 3/4ths full. So that was 8.75 liters at the time. Since then I have been adding 100 ml at a time hoping it will hit the full mark at some point but it just does not! Every time I add oil, I do the following:

a. First warm up the car so the oil temperature reads 210F.
b. Turn the engine off, park the car on a level surface.
c. Add 100ml of oil.
d. Do the initial oil read (shows 3/4ths), then do the full read which takes several minutes/miles of driving around (still shows 3/4ths).

I'm just going out of my mind here, how much more oil can this car take! It's already almost 1 liter above the 8.8 QT spec! Could it be my oil sensor that is faulty? Should I take it to the dealership?

Was this after you figured out which jackstands and ramps to use?

I didn't use ramps (don't have jack stands) to add the incremental oil, but I don't know how that's relevant? Isn't it better if the car is level when the oil is added?

Not to sound old fashion and backward, but man, sucks that the S65 doesn't have a good 'ol fashion "analog" dipstick

I drove for more than 250 miles after changing the oil (I don't think how many days is irrelevant), If it magically starts saying its over filled then Its BMWs problem. I'm not draining that stuff again.

Start your fill with 8.25L. Drive it for 10 miles, let it warm and measure. It will tell you a reading then. Mine said +1Q although I knew 8.2 should give me a fair reading. I added another .25 for a total of 8.5L. It still had no change and a day later it's reading mid level. Do not ever add more oil than what you know should be right as this car only reads in .5L increments and you can over-fill before it gets a good reading which can take a day or more. Car is 8.8L capacity, some oil does not drain out so if you are adding more than 8.8L back you've goofed up.

Why do you want the oil level at "full?"
I run mine between 1/2 and 3/4 and it is just fine.

I've added 9L of oil after an oil change when I let the car drain overnight as drained all the oil out of the oil filter canister. Anyway, I would suggest just leaving it and check your level again in a few days, I think trying to get full is only asking for trouble. Have never had it "full" even after all the dealer changes and self changes at home.
