I hate the text screen. It's hard to see with it being entirely white. Everything else seems ok thus far.

I don't like how certain buttons and sliders are now often replaced with text with a ">" next to them, or things that used to be separated in their own little box

It's like we've gone from nice graphic design to more of an amatuer text-based system.

Some of the fonts are unnecessarily small, too, such as slide to unlock or the temps in weather center. Unless you need to fit a lot of info on one screen (e.g. like in Safari) fonts should be as big and high-contrast as possible so you can see them on the go. Floating white font can be tough to see on their cloudy earth background, too

I don't really see much in the way of improvements except videos going into their own folder in "photos" and album cover art in "music". It looks different (not better...just has novelty value for now), but I don't see why it's even considered a whole new OS.

It sucks. Looks like a damn leap frog device now or something out of Teletubbies. What are these dots at the top left? The signal strength? wtf

Our network was practically crippled yesterday because so many people were downloading this. What's the rush?

I have been using 2 iPhones side by side for the past 3 months - one with iOS6 (my corporate phone) and one with iOS 7 (my personal phone running the beta).

ALl I can tell you is that I hate the old design. For the last month I was biding the time till I could install iOS7 on my corporate phone.

The things you liked about the old design just seemed clunky and old fashioned to me. To me your taste is like the people who like to have a stitched vinyl roof on a car.

BTW font sizes across the interface are adjustable. Go to accessibility settings.

Right!?!

I was riding in an elevator with 3 women in their 40s. They were complaining that the icons look cartoonish now. Really? What did they look like before? They they are saying that nothing else changed and it was a stupid upgrade.

I don't know about everyone else, but voice recognition works much better now, the whole phone is faster, email is more efficient and the camera functionality is much better. I love how i can get into settings with a swipe and one click to turn on and off things like bluetooth and wifi that i use throughout the day.

Not a fan of the white text screens and can't understand why they would move the delete function in the email edit screen from the bottom left to the bottom right when it has been in the bottom left for years.

Either way, the positives i've seen in the 7 hours i've had the update already outweigh the negatives which likely will be addressed with smaller updates.

No- check this out. I guess font size isn't the problem (except in things like weather). The old font had a sort of shadow that allowed them to stand out against any background color. The new one looks thin and the contrast goes WAY down against lighter colors...

I kind of like the reflection effect of the tray at the bottom, too. No biggie though.

I've only been upgraded for a few hours. If siri works better that'll be worth it. I just think the asthetic changes are a step back in some ways.

Email seems pretty much the same; what do you like better?

I thought it was funny they're trying to go away from digital representations of analog devices, but the camera icon looks like an SLR from the 70's instead of the lens on the camera on the phone. Also weird that "photos" is just a bunch of colors instead of...a photo. I like the ways to access geotagging and new ways to categorize though- big step up.

For slide to unlock, that box went away because now you can touch anywhere on the screen to slide to unlock.

It's a nice refresh of the OS. I like it so far, is it groundbreaking? No. Is it a nice touch? Yeah. But android is still beating it in terms of diversity and what you can do with your phone. Yes, I know you can jailbreak it and do all that as well, but why do I have to jailbreak to do something that android can do out of the box? Food for thought...either way, I love my phone, it gets the job done.

Right when I installed it I thought that it was absolutely awful. I texted my friend that it reminded me of bubbles and confetti. Then after I used it for a while and figured some stuff out I started to really like it and realize that the old OS really did need a refresh because it was starting to look tired.

Because that is the Apple way. They control the process/experience. If you want control, either have to jailbreak it or switch platforms. Apple is a closed system.

Anyway, what is growing to be my new favorite feature in iOS 7 is the new way multitasking is handled. Don't have to hold down the icon and then press the - button anymore. Just swipe up and closes the app. So much easier.

Agreed it is a closed system. I'm
Not a fanboy for either, but if I said the closed system comment to an apple guy, he would defend it with such ignorance and say apple this apple that..... I have the iPhone because it works great and does the job. Can an android phone do it better? Maybe. But I'm not that big into phones to look into the small things about who is better. Besides, apple got me good by investing in their ecosystem so it would be annoying to have to switch, ain't nobody got time for that!

I just downloaded it last night. So far I like the changes. The small things that did freshen up the overall appearance and function. I am sure that it will take some time for people to get used to it but eventually it will be the norm and when there is an upgrade to IOS8 people will be having the same conversation all over again.

There are benefits and cons of both. Your reason why you have an iPhone is a perfect example of the benefit of a closed system( if done correctly). Where with Android, it can be a horrible due to the skin the manufactures put on top of it.

Android being an open system can have users customize the UI extensively, etc.

Both iOS and Android are very good OS's and the phones they are installed on are also good. Both will do the job. It just comes down to personal preferences. For me, I am not all that big on customization, etc. I just want a phone that works and the iPhone/iOS is that phone for me.

the appearence is brutally dull - like someone made the icons in Microsoft Paint.

wife updated the phone and said it looks childish.

i haven't updated my phone in over a year - i still have the old map, which is better than that Google Map garbage.

probably won't update......unless forced to......

Only thing I've found I don't like about it is charging the phone. I plugged in and unplugged my phone like 5 times because I couldn't tell if it was charging. Just a little white lightning bolt to the right of the battery

that and in the center of the phone it tells you how many percent your battery is charged when charging.

I like that they added a scale to the new map. Although it only appears when you're zooming in or out. Really??? Only when zooming?
