Buy some Techron for $ 12 at an auto store and do it yourself.

Just curious, is there a particular brand of gas you typically use?

THIS! Techron is legit stuff. I'm curious to see what my car will need as i'm about to hit 30k in 1200 miles.

Op not to thread jack you but speaking of the 30k service. Well at 27k i got the warning for service which I then had done. Consisted of spark plug change, differential fluid chand and standard scope along with oil change. No less the a month later Iam getting another warning with the icon showing the car raised on a lift. I call the dealer and the SA tells me that its a different service and consist of an actual vehicle inspection. So what gives. Now I have to bring the car in back to the dealer.

BMW sells a product like techron. I uses it every 2,500. It is recommended by Mike Miller form Roundel.

The dealer claim is generally bs but if you use cheap gas...

a dealer just did that for my GFs mini...absolute horseshit. I can almost guarantee if you make enough noise they will compensate you for doing that

OP like others suggest I would just buy the cleaner yourself

Not to bump an old thread, but be positive you buy the Techron Concentrate. There is Techron ProGuard in an identical bottle that has like 1/10th the active PEA additive.

Alternatively, Red Like SI-1 and Gumout Regane both have comparable amounts of PEA and can be had at most auto parts stores. Buy whichever is on sale (they run BOGO pretty often). One bottle per oil change should be more than sufficient.

Looks like they didn't reset the service indicator...I have 32K on my 08 and the only service I needed was the Spark plugs, Diff fluid and oil change it was done for free before the warranty expired no lights no warning. Never trust the dealer!

The only real way to clean injectors is to remove them and send them out for ultrasonic cleaning and flow balancing. Don't waste your dough with the dealer either using an in-tank solution or directly into the fuel rail.

So I used the ProGuard last week--is there any harm in using the real stuff in my next tank? Don't want to overdo it.

My warranty expired 2 weeks ago exactly, and my car only has 22k miles (2009). Right before it had expired I took my car for some work and I asked my advisor if he could get anything that needed to be done cleared away for me (like fluids, etc..). He says, "no, you're perfect, nothing is due for a while).

Yesterday (2 weeks later 200 miles ago) he tells me that I need to do the Spark plugs, oil change and diff fluid. Do you think I have a valid argument if I speak with management about getting it done for free? I think they have done all of this 200 miles ago when I was still under warranty. I've doing business with this dealership (and have purchased all my bmw's) with them since 1998.

No harm. It's the same thing BMW sells at the parts counter for a few bucks more.

Shop around and see if any stores have a BOGO deal.

Wouldn't hurt to ask. They might good-will part of it. I'd just tell you to do the plugs yourself, it's pretty easy if you have basic mechanical know-how.
