Costco premium gas

Has anyone else used the new Costco premium gas? They advertise it to have 5 times the cleaning agents. I used one tank in a pinch (was running super low and needed a fillup). It was surprising a smooth ride, got 1 MPG more than my normal gas shell v power over a tank Nd had good power delivery. I would live to hear your experiences if any...

I'm sure it's fine. Unless you're a petroleum engineer and know what the additive forumla is and how it performs vs VPower vs Techron vs Invigorate, it's hard to tell how well (or poorly) it'll perform over time.

...and let the argument on premium gas begin!

Timely post. I filled up with Costco premium for the first time this weekend. Power delivery is fine thus far.

Unless you have some sort of accurate measuring device, a 1 mpg difference between tank fulls is, likely as not, a measuring error. To me what you've proved is COSTCO gas performs like all the other gas out there.

agreed, slight change in driving habit also could account for a 1mpg difference too.

I pretty much only use Costco gas and don't notice any difference from when I use "top tier" gas except for the 10-15 cents a gallon I save.

I split my fill-ups between Costco and Shell, never notice any difference between the two. But I'm sure someone will tell me I'm ruining my engine with Costco gas...

And all gas starts off the exact same, only difference from one brand to another is the additives they use.

My go-to station is Chevron, but I do mix Costco gas from time to time, and I can't tell any difference between the two.

The only difference is the additives/cleaning agents as I understand it, and in absence of any hard data showing one is superior to the other, I'll continue to use both (whichever is more convenient at the time of fill-up).

There is no difference. Costco buys their gas from one of the big refiners and distributers. They just pass along the savings. As long at the octane rating is sufficient you should have no problems.
