Mobil 1 5w-30 OK?

From using the search button it looks like I should be using 0w-40 in both my
2009 328i xdrive and 2008 E90 M3

You should be using 10W-60 and nothing else. No need to deviate from what is the recommended oil.

No, just stick with the 10-60 from the dealer. Castrol formulated it for the S65 and that includes more than just the weight.
