Radio troubles.....program mode??
OK, I picked up my 2007 Z4M Coupe this morning. As the CA was going over everything, we noticed you could not get the radio to do anything. He had the tech look at it, and he fixed it. Said it was in "program mode" where you can't access the radio at all.
I drove off very pleased.....but. I stopped to get something to eat about 50 miles from the dealer, got back in the car and started it up..... no radio again. Called the dealer, and they said it was "impossible" that the car had reverted back to this program mode. They were perplexed. The NAV works fine, the radio does nothing. You cannot access any radio functions. Tell me this is an easy fix by turning the ignition a certain way or something. I tried starting it with both keys to no avail. If not, I'm going to have to go to the dealer tomorrow to earn the privilege of listening to the radio. HELP! ps. I haven't tried a CD or the aux yet. And I'll be posting this on a couple of forums in case we all don't read the same ones |

That's crazy...should be something with the computer...the local dealers should be able to fix it.

It will be covered under warranty. I had my Z4M "Roaster" go in at least 6-8 times because of the stupid roof. It also went in to have an a/c duct changed due to a rattle. Then there were the squeaks! That car went in at least 10 times in 6 months. No charge.... Then they took it back and I got my Coupe.

So, enfield, whatever happened to your Roaster again? |

Back to the original topic.........
I took the coupe in today, and they fixed the radio. I'm not lying when I tell you this but they actually said, "It's been working ever since you brought it in." They told me they did absolutely nothing to it. Gimme a break! I consider myself pretty technologically adept, but anyone could have noticed that absolutely no radio functions responded at all. I had literally tried everything under the sun without so much as a burp from the radio. Now it works like a charm! Oh well, at least it works now. Only 600 more miles till break-in service! |

When it spends more time in the garage it becomes a "garagester", doesn't it?
