Hehe this is older than me. The crib notes are the CDV is for people who don't know how to (shouldn't) drive a manual car. If you know how to, get it removed -> improve clutch life.

i've been wanting this for the past few days. will get!
though, i don't find it as bad as most people say, i can still rev match/heeltoe very smoothly, it's just sometimes usually when driving gently there's a big clunk, and it's not super smooth when taking off SLOWLY. wonder why the list on your link doesn't list the 130i. definitely has a CDV. oh and i get a lot of slip going from 1-2-4, 1-2 is fine, but 2-4 clutch fully off barely any throttle and it just sliiippppsss. ED: "You can actually chirp the tires when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear! " i can chirp mine going from 2-3 *sometimes* as it is. 1-2 pretty much without fail. where's the cheapest place to get the replacement valve... this site? |

Thanks! Whats the deal with the clutch stop shim? I have never ever fully depressed my clutch bar startup and if its up by even 1mm its too high, so that shim would just... Stop my car from working? Also will that k&n filter fit rhd cars? |

1 X punch with a 4mm flat end.
1 X small modellers hammer. After removing the valve from the line - place punch into valve and tap gently. Out pops the restrictor. Here then is your new valve. Replace the valve back in line. Your choice whether to pressure bleed or not. I did. Disclaimer. I bear no responsibility if this advice fails to meet your expectations. |

Guys whats the general concensus, modify the oem item or purchase a BMS item?
My car ran out of warranty last month, so I dont mind modifying the oem item,, but for the sake of $30 is it worth buying a nice new fresh item? |

Just remove your CDV adaptor(restrictor cdv tube) and plug the two hydraulic lines together. That will work just fine. You will need to bleed the system though.

Finally got around to getting andrew to do my CDV at an oil change, noticable difference and ALOT easier to do smooth changes etc.

Still... you SHOULD bleed the clutch after you open the hydraulic line(s).
