Streaming Music with BT in 2008 E90

Guys,

I recently bought a 2008 E90 and wondered if there is a straighforward way to stream music from my iPhone 4s using Bluetooth. I don't like having to dock the phone in the armrest every time I get in the car.

I spent a significant amount of time searching the forum on this topic but most of the discussions are based on the 2009-2011 interface and I know the 2008 is different. I saw one thread about using a BT headset so my assumption is that the answer is no.

Thanks

I tried the BT headset idea. For the people with factory stereos you may not notice a difference in sound. However I have morel speakers in the doors driven with Arc Audio amps and I notice a significant difference. BT technology has a way to go to come close to being plugged in.

I thought about stream too...but I just bought i-pod 32gb and put it in armrest box all the time...this was straight and easy....also quality of stream music wasn't good enough on my 2011 X5

As an alternative, I have seen some people install an iPhone/iPod dock in the ashtray so it is easily accessible. I don't believe there is a plug-and-play solution though, everything I've seen has been custom.

Thanks guys. I think the semi-permanent iPod idea is a good one.

If you have the USB port in the console, you can use the Blackberry bluetooth receiver to send the signal. I've been using that setup, works like a champ.
