Can I get text messages to appear on iDrive?

I looked online - could not really find anything -also searched the forums.

I have a 2011 e90 - all options. I have the media cradle for my iPhone 4. But a small problem has arisen. When I have the phone plugged in, and I am listening to the radio, or have the windows open, I cannot hear if someone sends a text.

I am fully aware that no one should be texting while driving, and I don't. However, if I am driving along & someone sends a text, for example, can you grab some milk on the way home? This would be extremely useful to know before I physically arrive home.

I have no way of knowing if I received any text without opening the arm rest & checking the phone. Am I missing some way for a simple message to appear , that could read something as simple as "new text message", or something similar?

Thanks

Frank

So far in the USA, only certain Blackberry's can display the emails and text in the iDrive (Sept 2010 production-on).
