Any Pinstriping on 1M ??

Has anyone done any pinstriping on their 1M? If so, can you share some photos? I have only seen the big M strips on the AW. It might good good with some smaller striping along the top finder line.

Don't take offense....

please...

I'm only [sort of] joking when i say...

Do people still do this? To me it detracts from the car.

I wonder what the BMWP side stripes would look like?

Take a look at ///M1's ED thread, there is an E92 M3 with BMWM Perfornance stripes and I reckon the 1 M will be similar. Although there was a 1M in Singapore with M stripes and it looked official? Press car?

Hell-- That is why they call me "old"......
I have seen it on some 3 series, and some looked good-- some did not. Personal preference I guess.

... anyway I thought someone may have done it and wanted to see what it looked like,

Dad has M stripes on his Z4 M and it looks factory. It's super subtle.

I realize the picture is terrible but hopefully you can kind of get the idea. It's subtle and those are the ///M colors if you couldn't tell.

I think pinstripes were cool...in the 70's. Sorry. No offence. They delivered my Sky Redline with pinstripes and I nearly went ballistic - the first thing that went through my mind was two-tone tube socks. Ugh.

However, that M-striped AW looks pretty snazzy, throwbackish.

C'mon, I see guys spending close to $100 for IZOD shirts that I donated to Goodwill in the eighties after they were out of style! If done right, they could look cool. My friend has a Cobra GT-500 with stripes from the sixties, and it looks awesome!

Indeed, I took those shots and saw the M3 with the Perf Stripes in person. In all honesty, I did not like it. Way too much and detracting from the overall look of the car. To me less is more, a more subtle approach would have better suited that M3.

I still think the best stripe option (if one were to go for such) on the 1///M is the Jon Sibal's rendering.

The 1M has such aggressive lines. I can't imagine it with pinstripes that weren't a distraction from the original design.

Then again...

SCOTT'S avatar is actually just a 1M Coupe. With M stripes...

When I get back from the US I will be talking about the stripes especially in relation to BMW's intellectual property.

SCOTT'S 1M can be found on autogespot, apparently.

Looks like some info may be forthcoming in the near future.

I think I googled "bad pin striping." If anyone wants to use it as their wallpaper feel free.

I was drinking a pint of Guinness and needed a laugh. It might have taken 30 seconds and if it makes 1 person laugh I'm ok with it.
