ipod always goes back to beginning of library on idrive

every time i browse an artist on idrive through my ipod it always goes back to beginning of library starting at the letter A.
2 solutions i would accept
1. when i go back into the artists it will be at the artist im currently listening to
2. get a bigger hard drive for idrive i have about 70gb of music
Does anyone know if either are possible?

Mine does this too. It's inconsistent AND IT'S ANNOYING! I have the pre-BMW Apps iDrive. The iPod browsing interface leaves a lot to be desired. BMW needs to fix this with a software update. My pre-combox 2008 335i iDrive had a better iPod browsing interface.

I wonder if this problem exists with BMW Apps/iPod out? Probably not, I'm guessing.
