Custom 5X7 door panel insert

This weekend we started working on my door pocket inserts for my M3. I wanted something that would drop in with no panel modification. I am more than pleased how its going so far.

Well my front end is almost done. Horns mounted and playing. The 5x7's sound SO GOOD.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....I have some CD2 pro horns mounted in my truck, mated with a set of H.A.T. 6.5" mid-bass. How is foot-well room with those there? In my truck, it's pretty nice b/c there's a lot of clearance between the bottom of the dash and the floor.

*lol* b/c I see the Audison bit one box in your trunk, and I'm running 2 Audison LRX series amps in my truck.

its hard for me to kick the horn and i know where the horn is. There is all sorts of room.

Update on the system. So i installed a mObridge DA1 and wired it into the bit one. Sound wise it sounds really good. No where near as sweet as the AGW+ was in my 335 but its the best i'll get in the M3. Of course, there are issues. I am really hoping its a defective unit. After the car goes to sleep when you turn the car back on the car goes into a boot loop where the idrive will not boot. The only way to get it to boot is to power the DA1 off for 10 seconds then back on. After that it works fine again until the next time it goes to sleep. On the tuning side, the midbass and subs are starting to break in and are sounding better and better. Soundstage is wide and out towards front of the car. its amazing how well the horns image.

Sounds like firmware. That's the Mobridge piece with a sticker on it. We had a unit do that until the correct FW was loaded, then it was fine. Then the bitone wouldn't make enough voltage and we ran into the noise floor of the Mac amps - with horns, I would suspect you are sensitive to noise floor issues...

Yes, mObridge sent me a new firmware and it resolved the problem. I feel the weakest link in my system is the bitone. Unfortunately there is nothing else out there that has toslink in and full eq/crossover. I heard Arc is releasing their own processor soon so i will be switching to that unit.

Not that i finally got a clean signal, now we begin to tune.
