All of my settings disappeared
OK, this is a weird one. Got in the car this morning and everything that I had saved (seat position, equalizer, M button/key dependent settings, memory buttons, etc) was completely wiped out. Just gone. Happened to have an appointment at the dealer today anyway for an oil change, so I got them to take a look. They found one small fault code (something to do with the coolant temp not registering) but nothing that would have caused this. I unfortunately have to park my car in a valet garage overnight so there is a possibility that they ran the battery down, but if you ever met these guys you would be pretty confident that they would have no idea how to jump it with the battery in the trunk. Plus, there werent any extra miles on the car, so they didnt drive it around to recharge it. Car started right up like normal this morning...
Anyone have this happen before? BTW - its a 2011 so its the CIC iDrive.

Happened to me just once, if it's any consolation . And yes, same key and new battery; just all settings reset for no reason.
That's one of the many electronic gremlins I've had, but fortunately, all of them, JUST ONCE. Unless it starts happening often, I wouldn't worry about it. Most ot them happened during the first year of ownership. Nothing lately. And have never taken car for any reflashes (6MT here) or crap like that; that's when a lot of people start seeing weird behavior. |

It seems to have saved the re-entered ones, so hopefully it is that one time gremlin. Its amazing how hard it is to get the seat back to where you want it!
