New 2006 3.0SI Roadster Owner (Aftermarket Parts Questions)
Ok guys, this is my first BMW and I have been browsing aftermarket parts since I would obviously like to add some custom touches to the vehicle (appearance and performance) and the big name manufacturers are kinda high dollar (hamman, AC, supersprint, etc.) Can some of you seasoned vets include some links to some less know aftermarket vendors. Some parts I'd like to change would be...
1.) front bumper...mine is rockchipped to hell...also, it has the trapezoidal fog lights. Anything other than an M bumper that isn't $2000.00? 2.) Rear bumper...I'd like to end up doing quad exhaust, possible custom with top speed pro 1 mufflers (sounds good and not outrageous $$$). Also need to do some clearance investigating to see if feasible. Obviously M bumper is choice #1 but are there any others that aren't $2K? 3.) Performance...ECU tuning??? 4.) Lighting- Car has clear bumper markers and clear side marker lights. Also doesn't have the orange reflector in the headlight. I've found the clear taillight replacement, but does anyone make a clear bumper marker light (2.5" round one on driver/passenger rear bumper) 5.) Hood...Just seeing if anyone makes something similar to vorsteiner??? THANKS GUYS!!! Sorry for being long winded, but I'm itching to get tweaking!!! |

2. Again, not sure where you're getting your $2k figure for the rear bumper but if you wanted to do it right, you'd need the M bumper for sure. Cutting out a 2nd exhaust cutout on your non-m bumper would not advisable. Eisenmann offers a dual setup but it's not a true dual, and no system really would be. Most accomplish this by welding on a 2nd tip extending from the muffler. Sorta bootleg if you ask me. I know "-c-" just did the dual conversion (check exhaust / engine thread) but that wasn't cheap either. 3. OE, BMS, AA come to mind but I'd go with AA given their reputation and solid gains. 4. Nobody makes clear makers for the rear, most sand/paint them or buy stick-on covers. |

Went to the Top Speed site and looked at their Z4 non-M specific muffler. First I've heard or seen of this company. Price is certainly right. Anyone with experience with their products?

The $2k figure came from Hamman, ACS, Supersprint prices...If I do swap to an M series rear bumper I may try and find a Euro bumper without the reflectors in them and zip tie the lights behind the bumper. I saw a thread for a guy that replaced his resonators with a dual in dual out magnaflow, so that might be an option with a set of resonators down stream from that with some resonated tips if it ends up being too raspy (I know my friends E39 M5 with Magnaflow is RASPY!!!) I really need to get home and start measuring under the car to see what fits and what doesn't exhaust wise. Thanks for the feedback about the ECU tuning. If I got an extra 10hp out of ECU, exhaust and intake I'd be happy...Every little bit helps esp. with a car that light.
