Is it worth the risk to have dealer change transmission fluid?
I just had my 2011.5 E90 in for my 1200 mile service and I noticed after I got home that the dealer (BMW Dallas) did not change the transmission fluid as is recommended in the manual (I have a 6MT). After reading a couple posts where the dealer inexplicably fucked up the tranny after changing the fluid, I'm a bit reticent to go back to have them do this. If I'm not mistaken, the requirement to change the 6MT fluid at 1200 miles is pretty new- I don't think prior model years had to do this, but I could be mistaken about that.
Any one else skip out on this or am I being gun shy from reading a few too many bad dealer threads? |

Required and done on my 2009 and, as I recall, a friend's 2008.
I did the 1200 mile service myself, so I know that it was done right.

Been part of the required service since 2008 so there's no reason other than ignorance for them not to have done this.
The complete screw ups where mainly where DCT units were being changed with 6MT oil. The DCT's aren't supposed to be changed at all.
