Sub 8 minute nurburgring time?
I'm trying to find out if anybody have been able to break the 8 minute mark at the Nurburgring with the E92 M3?
I have been out of the scene for awhile so I'm curious to see what, if any, progress has been made. Thanks... :-)

In Dec 2007 Horst Von Saurma did it in 8:05 in an E92 M3.
Not sure if this was a DCT car or not. I think if the same driver had a DCT car with the Competition Package and was running DOT Competition Tires (BFG R1, Hoosier R6) they could easily shave off the 5 seconds.

The 8:05 was with a 6MT and Cup+.
An M3 with PS2, DCT and ZCP has matched the earlier Hockingheim time (not the full 8:05 ring time above, a different hockingheim time trial) that a 6MT with Cup+ did. It stands to reason that a ZCP, DCT M3 with Cup+ will can hit 8:00. My personal feeling is that DCT is good for a lot more time shaving than ZCP. Others will disagree. Either way, get a professional driver behind the wheel of a stripped M3 with only ZCP and DCT optioned, (edit, forgot this *donk*) and put on Cup+ as were (or still are) available in Germany OEM, and I would personally bet a couple bills that a sub 8 minute time can be achieved.
