Filling up is a painful experience in England

This is filling the M3 up from a tank with 40 miles left in it. Bit blurry (they dont like you having your phone out on the forecourt) but if you cant make it out, that's £1.39.95 per litre and £82.15 worth of petrol.

Mate I feel your pain. How many miles do you get out of a full tank on average?

Wonder how the price of super will effect residuals on our M3's.

To be honest it isnt really a pain, I dont care. If I did I wouldnt have bought it. As its a keeper (as is my Works Mini) then residuals and cost of running are irrelivent. They pay me back in bundles.

Business and property for making money, cars, wives and kids for blowing money. Thats the way the world keeps turning.

I get 18mpg normally which rises to probably about 21mpg on a run. At that stage when I had been opn the motorway for around 300 miles it read about 325 miles after that fill up.

I would happily pay £2.50 a litre rather than give in and run a dirty diesel. Although I do commute 60 miles 4 times a week in the Works Mini (that gets a heady 29mpg, wooo).

Wow! That is a lot of dough for gas.

I hear so many local people whine and complain about gas prices here, but I guess we should still consider ourselves lucky since in Alberta we pay 0.96 cents per liter for Octane 91 (European Octane 95) and ~ $1.02 for Octane 94 at Husky (European Octane 100).

It's ok for you as you only have to go out in your back yard and squeeze some sand

His tank was about $132 USD.

So jealous of the $0.96/L for 91 premium in Alberta... I paid $1.35/L yesterday for Shell 91 in BC.

That was for Shell V-Power by the way.

One of my marketing guys is 22, he has a 1998 Vauxhall Corsa. You can pick them up for £300 or, in our "M3" world, 3.5 tanks of petrol or one rear tyre. LMAO!

Currently in the $3.30s/gal. range here ($0.88/liter) but is predicted to be near $5.00 by the end of next year. China and a lot of other developing countries are increasing demand without an increase in supply.

1 British liter = 1.136 quarts

so you're paying 5.60 pounds per 1.136 US gallon, which comes to $7.83 USD per US gallon.

Media reckons we will hit £1.50 a litre for standard unleaded by summer. Probably £1.60 per litre for high octane.

Mostly tax, all in the name of the environment. Does it reduce traffic? Does it bollocks. When you have to go somewhere, you have to go. No one is driving for the fun of it these days.

Its funny to think that when unleaded reached 80p a litre in 2000 the lorry drivers were blockading the refineries for weeks and the UK was running out of fuel.

Now its £1.30 for standard unleaded. I've stopped complaining how much it costs, just fill up with that lovely v power and go.
