except for the fact that the sedans have been and continue to be very desirable in the market.

When you just use the word "better" without specifiying a parameter, it doesn't mean much (to me). Sure, new M3 will be faster, but that's not "better" in my book.

I have two old car wants: the E30 M3 and a 1971 Datsun 240 (what can I say? One of my friends dad bought a new bright orange 240 and it just stuck with me) The E30 would be my first choice. |

Its really not too hard to predict. The new one will be larger, heavier and faster. There is not one snigle car that bmw has ever produced that did not follow this suit with each new generation.
The new styling is hit or miss. personaly i DESPISE the new line of cars, especially the beloved 5 series. I felt the E60 5 series was the best car that bmw made. Was small and light for its size (3600 pounds for an I6 version), it looked so unique and distinct and was really sporty. The e90 m3 is a close second to me. However now the new 5er and all the other cars have that horrid flat nose and the hood lines that just look horrible. Its a personal preference but I do not find it probable that I will like the look of the new car. However it will be better in every sense-better mpg, better torque and hp, better around a track etc. I had the chance to drive an X5M and it was an absolute monster of an engine that would make any m car a absolute thrill to drive. While the e90 will always be unique, unfortunately they new one will be that much better and that much more powerful given it will be based on the TT technoloy |

Last of the drivers M3s before technology took over the drive completely and the environment arseholes ruined the engine.
Lets face it, eventually there will be an all electric M3. Will newer still be better then? Not for me. Anyway, thats my BMW for the collection. Last one I'll buy, why visit the same resort twice?

Agreed, I hate all these computers and sensors in these cars. The e9x will be the last BMW i own. Maybe after, consider an e60m5. That's it |

The new M3 will be more powerful and slightly faster. But I agree it will probably also be heavier and bigger I think the E9X is a bit bloated as is.. but its livable. If it gets anywhere close to 4000 pounds they should just stop calling it a M3 as it doesn't deserve that name. Still I am sure the power plant it gets will be very nice. I'm not against turbo's at all, BMW did them right in the N54 engine. Puts other turbo engines to shame.
