Non-Iphone problems with your car?
Hey guys, I feel like the only one in the M3 world who opted for a Verizon Android vs the Iphone and now I feel like I am paying for it. I have heard lots of people post about how great the Iphones work with the car but what about other phones (Androids Specifically)? Are any of you Android guys having problems with the sync between your car and your phone?
I have an Lg Ally which is new phone from Verizon. Its not top of the line like Incredible but I went with the Ally because it has a real keyboard. Anyway, it only has the Android 2.1 OS available for it and does not have the SnapDraggon processor. Up until I got the M I have been very happy with this phone. But now, it seems like the phone or processor in the phone is not powerful enough to reliably sync with the car every time. When my phone and my car are connected then I cannot use the phone at all because it is frozen. When I go to answer and end calls from my controls on the car it sometimes doesnt work and I have to press the buttons multiple times. Plus, I should be able to do BT streaming but my phone freezes every-time I attempt it. Anyway, I would appreciate your guys thoughts on this whole matter. Come on Verizon Iphone!!!!!

I have a Droid X and my car is still in the Atlantic somewhere but when it gets here I will be doing PCD and I will raise the question while there if it has not been answered by then.

I have a first gen Droid and it was syncing fine until a couple of weeks ago. Have not had any phone-side problems, just needing to manually tell the M to connect to the phone.
My car is MY11 but a July build, so I don't have streaming. I keep my no-longer-my-phone iPhone plugged into the iPod adapter and use that for music, so I don't really miss it. |

I have the Droid X and what happens with me is the phone sync will be working perfectly, then all of a sudden I loose the sync and the phone is not hands free anymore. This has happened several times. I was going to see if they have the adaptor available yet, so I can cradel the phone in the center armrest. it apparently costs an additional 115.00, but I want to see if it works first before I purchase it. I ordered my car with that option.

I have a Samsung Focus Windows Phone 7 and a 2011.5 M3 with Bluetooth but no iDrive. Basic phone functionality works fine. My HUUUUGE address book appears to have synched at least partially, and I have zero stability issues.
Having said that, I am unable to get Audio streaming to work at all. I would be VERY interested to hear how you are attempting to stream music, especially if you do not have iDrive.

I have a Samsung Captivate running Android 2.2 and all bluetooth functions work for me so far, streaming works, address book synced, phone calls work, can even fwd and reverse tracks through bt streaming audio.

I may be wrong but I think you need iDrive in a Sept or later build. This gives you the combox which handles/allows the bluetooth streaming of music...
