software upgrade?

i am looking to improve my performance on 35i and i read about "Sprint Booster, drive by wire" i like the prospect of having the ability to alter my cars driving style on command but i am worried about how safe and "legal" this device is? any advice?

I tried the "sprint booster" on a previous vehicle that I owned and after using it for about a week I had it removed and received a full refund.

Because.....all it does is "accelerate" the response time as you push down on the accelerator. I felt it made the throttle too sensitive for my wants and needs.

The vehicle was an ML63. It took me a couple of minutes to remember that
