Anybody on Week # 39?

The wait is killing me...anyone having their M3 built next week?

How can you tell? I ordered my car 2 weeks ago and have a production number. My salesmen have been less than helpful.

Call (800) 831-1117. Follow the prompts and give them the production number. If your car is close to production, they will give you an estimated completion date.

I was told by my dealer when I bought the car that it was going to be a week 38 build. Chatted with a nice las at BMW's 800 number yesterday and she said I was a week 39. Guess that's why they tell you six to eight weeks... I haven't asked my dealer about the status as of yet. Think I'll wait until after next week.

Once it's built, then you get to wait for it to get on a boat (depending on where you live in this world). That can take a week or longer. Yours may not, but be prepared for it if it does. It is kinda cool to track it once it does make it's way aboard. That's when the anticipation really gets torqued up another couple of notches. I did all this in 08 with a JB M3.

Read this PDF I attached about three times if you haven't already. That might hold you over for a while. And if you set up an account on the BMW site, there's an extended version you can download once you get to your overview page. I believe that's where it is...

-- Your SA/Dealer should be able to tell you straight away. A build #, production week build # and probably a VIN # either this week or next.

-- Should be 4 weeks from production completion to pickup from the dealership, thats what my exhaustive semi-anal analysis has led me to believe. That PDF has hit the spot, thanks man, that will numb the pain...

PS - Mine is an E90 JB ...nice color..

I should be right there with you ladies. ED pickup on 10/23. Also coming from Cayman S. 8,400 RPM V8 is something I had to experience, and it maybe a while before BMW does this again. Glad Audi is keeping the V8s.

Seems to be quite a few folks going from a CS to an M3 on this board and just the opposite on planet 9 (cayman club).

A general answer would be three to four weeks... but there are variables in there that can't be predicted... relax and read that attachment I stuck on post #4 or buy some mods and wait on that shipping. Those will get here sooner and that'll make it seem like the car took less time to arive...

Looks like mine is scheduled for completion on the 29th... freakin' tomorrow — if the after hours automated 800 number is on the right schedule. Soon to be a boatload of happy M3 owners on this particular thread...
