GT2 RS or 458 Italia?

I was just curious what you guys would choose given the chance. Price is about the same. For me, it would have to be GT2 RS - Not that I am be in a position to make this decision for real.

Italia. Not because it's so much better than the GT2, but Ferrari is one of the few brands I have yet to own.

Italia, for the noise alone. Turbos (aside from a 917) just never sound as good as n/a motors.

Ferrari, as long as they fix the engine fire issue.

GT2 RS, it's a beast, however if you want a Porsche that sounds like nothing else you gotta get one of these, Ruf RGT-8

Sounded like a ferrari, that's what you get with a flat plane crank.

It wouldn't surprise me if Porsche aren't looking at this car, I doubt many though it possible to fit a V8 in a 911, now it's been done it opens the door for higher performance 911's.

Putting a V8 back there would skew distribution though, no?

A while back I would have said 458 but I look back on older Ferrari's (80's and 90's) and their "high volume" cars (348, 355, 360) just don't do it for me 10-15 years after they were introduced. The F40 and Enzo will always do it for me but the GT2 RS is something that I see being somewhat of a living legend as long as you own it. I can totally see how the sound and prancing horse heritage would be a huge swaying factor though.

Italia but not by much. That probably will change once the Scuderia/Challenge Stradale variant of it comes out

This choice assumes having the funds to deal with Italian maintenance and repair costs, right?

Very little difference in the weight and size of both motors.

I would take the Italian job. The GT2 is fantastic but nothing says exotic like a Ferrari.

Depends on what you plan on using it for. Even though the Italia would be great on the track, I probably would never take it there.

Italia.. because if I'm paying that much money a Ferarri turns way more heads than a Porsche (excluding the Carrera GT)

Ruf also claims that the V8 fitted into this car is lighter then the 3.8 H6 currently found in Carrera S. So it can work well

RS.

Not the Italia simply because there will be a "Scuderia" version, and you'd be helpless when you see it at the stop light.
