wow, just checked what the kit costs for the 03-04 mustang, only 7k for >1000hp?

I'd say thats a great deal..compared to hpf (but hpf reinforces the engine too...)

From what I have seen, the mustang engine isn't strong enough for daily use over 380whp. friend of mine kept blowing spark-plugs out. He finally got a used cobra motor.

I owned two 03-04 Cobras, a vert and a coupe. Since these cars came factory supercharged, the internals were all forged- crank, pistons, rods, etc. They could run 100k miles all day long pushing 650 rwhp and 600 rwtq. Kenne Bell twin screw blowers, Hellion turbo kits, Whipple twin screws- just pick your poison. The weak link are the rods which would give out at over 650ish to the wheels. If you replaced them with aftermarket pieces and added larger injectors and pump, you could daily drive 1000rwhp. Regular mustangs did not have forged bits so you are correct in saying 380 is the limit (about 5-6 psi on a blower). I came so close to buying this kit, but I could not justify it to myself.

edit: just saw the first posts mentioned 03-04 MUSTANG kits. The 7K kit is for 03-04 COBRA's.

Very poor place for the turbos to sit on a street car. Personally I would just go with a whipple 2.3 and call it a day or if you have to have 1000hp go with the 3.2.

This has been out for a long time. Very nicely done cars. A bit porky but still fun to drive.
