If you would change one thing on your M...

What would it be?

For me... considering I love its daily drive and I love to track it... My number one frustration that I absolutley hate and am totally pissed at BMW for are:

OUR F'In SHITTY BRAKES ! !

There is no reason why they have yet to fix this problem on the 2010 models let alone the 2009's! Why the F are they putting nice 6 postons on 1 series and keeping the crappy easy to FADE brakes on the M!

Yeah I fixxed this problem (not on my sig since I havent installed them yet) by picking up Brembos but I shouldnt have to with an M !

*On a side note would love for it to be 200 pounds lighter. Im at least 70 pounds lighter due to exhaust and brakes now but the brakes are an even larger issue*

I'd like them to fix the mold seam on my turn signal stalk. It's sharp and it catches my fingernail all the time.

I want MDM without iDrive.

Sorry man but you are wrong. Putting 6 piston or 12 piston brakes on won't make fade go away. Higher temp brake fluid and track brake pads are what will fix that. Go out and buy yourself some. I hope you enjoy your flashy $3000 Brembos though.

If I could change one thing it would be less weight. Removing weight improves every aspect of a car's performance.

Bingo.

But with modern safety regulations (and the "green" movement), that's easier said than done.

The government agencies responsible for creating these rules (in the interest of public safety), are forcing automobile manufacturers to pack on more weight to comply with these mandatory regulations.

My vote goes for:

50lbft of additional Torque
Coil-over shocks as standard
Stiffer Sway Bars
A true high fidelity audio system (not a poser system, like the so called "enhanced")
A nicer sounding/looking exhaust system
200lb weight loss
7,500 mile oil change interval on the maintenance free program

That is all I can think of as of right now

Better brakes, more torque, and less weight.

If I had to pick one:
Cooling ducts for brakes

+1 on the others people noted
MDM standard
M-DCT issues resolved
Nicer sounding/looking exhaust system
Weight reduction (yes, I know it's a dream for the reasons Lemans_Blue noted)
50 ft lbs. torque (nice, but not essential)

I love the engine but the 6MT gearbox is clunky at times when doing in daily drive mode.
But as a weekend car it's just fine. The gearbox needs a lot of attention to drive it well.

.. No more torque please I just don't need it in this car. My tires have lasted me 9K my friends C63 (he drives like my granny) has lasted him 4K b/c of his high torque. Keep in mind I love to take turns so I'm driving it pretty hard (but not abusing it by any means)

I forgot that one, that is a biggie. I hate this gearbox with a passion.
