Passenger side mirror problem

Hi all

My E93 M3 has recently developed a strange problem. Every time I get in the car and start it I realize the passenger side mirror is either tilted all the way up or all the way down. I readjust the mirror and reprogram the #1 setting on the seat and the problem keeps coming back.

I'm hoping there is a simple fix for the problem without having to take it to the dealer.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Are you using the same key each time?

same thing happens to me everytime, but with the driver's side mirror, I have to adjust it everytime I get in the car, it's really annoying, tried replacing the battery, nothing works, I use the same key always, wish there was a fuse just for the mirrors so I can take out

How do you program the mirror setting in the seat #1 key? Maybe you are not doing this correctly and therefore it never gets registered / programed.

I press the top button then the button that says 1 on it. I'm definitely doing it right because I've tried reprogramming the seat position and it works fine.

Besides that the mirror sometimes is pointing up all the way and down all the way.

So you guys think it could possibly be from the key?

I noticed it takes a few use cycles for the CA key to record new settings. I'd try inserting the key in the slot then hit the memory key again; supposedly it records the new info right away. Try that and report back to us. Good luck.

Didn't get a chance to report back earlier but I tried putting the key in the ignition and the problem is still there! This is getting annoying and likely that I will have to take the car to the dealer.

You figure out a solution to this? Mine is doing the same damn thing. It's not the CA either. It's just random. I notice it more when I have backed the car up into a parking spot. I even turn the mirror switch so it doesn't move down when in reverse. I happen to look at it and lo and behold...its moved itself...always in so WAY off position! Like all the way up and out or all the way down and out...talk about being pissed! It ANNOYS the ever living shit out of me....I have no clue what it could be...I definitely need some help in resolving this!
