it will but you'll have to make the adjustments on your own. with m-mode you make all your adjustments and then you can just push the button to go in and out of those settings. plus, without m-mode you can't adjust servotronic at all.

And i hate to break it to you, but on the track the servotronic makes a hell of a difference

Think of the M-mode button as a button to recall your "favorites" that affect: 1) Power settings; 2) EDC setting; 3) servotronic; 4) S1-S5 or D1-D5 settings; and 5) MDM on/off. Typically, people with the M-mode button will max-out the performance by setting the M-mode settings as follows: Power to Sport Plus, EDC to Sport, Servotronic On; D5 or S5; and MDM on. Therefore, with the push of the M button, you can go from comfort daily driving to super sporty. So, if you don't have the M-mode button, you can still max out all your settings, but would have to configure each setting one by one. With the M-mode button, whalla!

You still have 'sport' and 'dsc off'.
you are missing 'sport+', 'M-Dynamic mode' (which is between DSC full-on & off), & the adjustment to the servotronic steering as others above have mentioned.

Im curious as to how the servotronic steering is tuned with a non M-Drive M3.. Is it sort of in between normal and sport, similar to how M3's suspension without EDC option are tuned?

The steering is the same as the non-Sport setting on an MDrive equipped M3.

Actually no, the M button gives you an extra 55 hp, that's why you saved so much money.

Maybe you should try trade it in on one with the M button. They make the non M button spec for older drivers. How old are you?

The steering in normal mode is way too light for me; I don't think I've driven the car almost ever without M Mode on
At the track the regular M Mode makes all the difference in feel to me, not much but just enough to make it better and a little heavier

EDC I don't care for, but MMode is cool for novice drivers or just playing around safely. DSC actually will engage very often but I can drive very fast and smoothly on track without DSC ever engaging in M Dynamic mode, gives you just enough space to drive well but will intervene a lot if you're reckless

But either way you're fine if you drive DSC off and Sport which is what I do anyways, missing link is the steering. And get a nice set of coilovers if it still bothers you

Of the three missing options, MDM mode is probably the only one I'd make an effort to add if I could. However, I find the car very controllable with DSC off, and I find that with DSC on I don't get power cuts very often. I just have to remember to choose the right setting for the type of driving I am doing.

MDM is the only reason i got M-Drive, but now I am happy about all the other features as well. I only wish we had a TV tuner and Internet as they do in Europe.

For me... I'll never see the track.
So the Power Button and DSC Sport mode settings are enough for me.
Power button increases the throttle response and also pours gas in that engine!
It's still an M-car an a step up over a regular 3-series. This one is my first BMW and I love it...

Maybe it's just mine, but I get almost 2 MPG better mileage than when I'm in M-Mode (or have the Power button pressed).
