A terrible story indeed... car stolen and found..

So last week i was at my apartment in the San Diego State University area for a friends birthday. I arrived to the apartment at 10 pm and began to hang out with some friends. Around midnight i went down into my parking garage to leave and grab some food. I walk out to my car gone. I called the towing company but they didnt have any M3's. i had to report it stolen. i hadnt realized it but i left my wallet in my car. About 4:30 am i recieved a call and was told they had found my car. they aprehended the suspect which was apparently ME! The guy was being pulled over for a speeding ticket and decided to run from the CHP. The guy tried to take a 90 degree turn and slid out straight into a curb popping the car up and finally ending the chase with my car up against a boulder which destroyed my beautiful M3. He ran away and hid in a persons yard 30 feet away. when he was found he said he was me and provided my ID as proof. He was taken to jail and didnt want to give a statement on what had happened. It was all soon figured out but my dear AW M3 was a total loss. now im forced to find another M3 in its replacement. Not to mention i couldnt even get my eisenhaus exhaust off the car. here are the pictures...
here is where the car was attempting to make a turn at 90 mph.(notice its left or right... no straight)

heres the boulder he hit.

and the final verdict...

What kind of scum bag steals an M3 and crashes it into a boulder. How did he get the car started?

How the hell was he able to use your ID? Does he look like you or something? Maybe he's your evil twin?

Anyway, sorry for your misfortune. Hopefully you get a good settlement from your insurance company, and you are in a new M3 soon.

Oh no...San Diego.

Sorry to hear. At least it's a total loss. I'd never want my car back after it's been stolen. Also, NEVER leave your wallet or GF's/wife's purse in your car.

WOW....I hate it when people ruin it for the rest of us! Why can't they get their own sh*t....

I wonder how he got it started. Isn't the first time I have heard of it, makes me worry!

Wouldn't you have to be a fairly sophisticated car thief to steal this car? Don't think hot-wiring would work? Could someone have stolen your car keys somehow?

Perhaps the guy was smart enough to copy your code but dumb enough to crash it? I dunno, just an assumption.

Do you have comfort access? Your key may have been in range of the system for the guy to open the door and start the car???

If mine is stolen...I hope it ends up just like that! I wouldn't want it back and I'd want the thief in jail.

Even with CA the sensor to start the car the key has to physically be inside the car to start

That turn could've been taken if he knew how to drive, why couldn't he safely return the car instead of destroying it

Maybe it was you from the future and you stole your own car to save the past and change something, so he had your key and your wallet....FROM THE FUTURE!
