Multiple Misfire Codes

After driving the car for about 21 hours, we let the car sit for 4 days in the garage. Really no need to drive it after the trip. Go to start it and check engine light comes on and goes into limp mode. After 1 full week at the dealer, SA calls and says the technican cleared the computer and can't get the light to re-appear. He asked me to pick up and drive around until it comes on again. My question is why can't they fix the car based upon the codes they pulled out initially?

That really sucks, what gets me upset is reading about all these different problems that occurres on our cars, really stinks because its a freakin $50k-$70k car. But i guess we cant have everything haha. But as for your problem, what was the SA excuse to not read the codes before they cleared them? Makes no sense....

They pulled the codes, but all of them were misfire codes. They attribute to bad gas (I use top tier gas no matter were I go). I know just as sure as shi* when I pick it up, its going to act up again.

This exact thing just happened to me--multiple misfire codes, no idea WTF is wrong with the car, kept it for a week, now they say please come get it because we cannot duplicate the problem.

Garage List
1) Speak with the shop foreman and make sure he fully understands the problem.

2) Even though they can't duplicate the errors, that doesn't mean the problem magically went away. I had bad ignition coils and misfires in my 550i and they couldn't duplicate the problem - I told them "give me a loaner and drive the car around until you can..." 3 days later, they did and fixed it.

3) They're lazy and don't want to work (the SA's that is), it's so easy for them to say "can't duplicate the problem." This is an ongoing issue with all dealers these days, maybe they're not getting paid enough, they're lazy, they're dumb, who knows - who cares.

4) Have them fix your problem or call BMW NA and when they receive a call from upstairs, they'll fix it for you in 2 hours.
