Car auto reving?
Yesterday when I was driving my M3 around. I stopped at a light and noticed that my car was reving automatically. It was in neutral and I was not stepping on the gas nor clutch. I drove it to the nearest place I could stop (gas station) and turned the engine off. Turned in on about 1 min later and it was back to normal. Anyone experienced this?

I drove it around about 4 miles and noticed it when I stopped. I did turn on the AC at one point but dont remember when. I doubt its the AC though because it was reving from idle to like 2.5k

If it were 1k or so I'd shrug it off, but 2.5k is pretty high. There might be an issue, though I have no idea what kind of issue would cause such a symptom.

ECU gremlins?
It might be an early symptom of the idle-valve issue; although I haven't heard of it manifesting in this way. If that's it there is a fix. |
