I'm pretty jealous of your M3

How can you dudes afford such cars like M3? Are you all doctors or something? I work like 12 hours a day for the most of my life and all I can afford is Hyundai Genesis. It's nice sports car but I'm just really gelous.

Regardless of what you own, a good recipe for life is to work hard and enjoy what you've been blessed with. I park next to a Genesis every day and I think it's one of the best looking cars on the road. And it's no slouch in terms of performance either.

My wife and I are both military and I paid off everything but her Jeep before I made the jump. Her Jeep is next on the the list.

Smartest advise yet. Forget the car, buy a house. Rent the house and let the mortgage carry itself until paid. Then buy a car and let the tenant pay for your new M3.

So in the end, tenant pays for most of the house, all of your car, and you now have equity. That leads you to buy bigger things that give you greater return and.... well, you get the idea.

Most of the guys on here have either followed this formula or invested in their education and then let their high paying salaries pay for the car.

Well, a Hyundai Genesis is a pretty nice car. I guess it all depends on how old you are. On this forum, owners are in several categories:

1. Those of us who are professionals that can afford an M3.

2. Those who love cars so much that they have an M3 but cannot really afford it.

3. Those who live with mom and dad in order to afford an M3.

4. Those who are given an M3 by their rich parents.

I assume you are not in categories 3 or 4. So my advice is to just keep on educating yourself, making goals and working hard.

I bought my m3 2 weeks before my 30th birthday and I have been working on getting one since I was 16..LOL!

The mortgage idea is not working very well now...quite the opposite.

I know what you mean. I almost went bankrupt 2-3 years ago when the bubble burst. Luckily I was able to unload but lost $$$,$$$ in the process.

My best advice is to educate ones self and pursue a profession within a high-paying industry.

Yes and no. IMO, I'd rather have a property rather than a car, even in bad times. The car will still cost you money and lose value. The property will still have its value when the markets begin to change. That is if you can afford to keep it when the markets are low. I guess all situations are different.

OP, count your blessings. The Genesis is a great car.

OP, consider bettering yourself academically to widen your horizons. And no, I am not knocking your spelling. But at 12 hrs a day, unless you have ten kids or serious alimony or something, you should be able to afford an M3 once you are on a good career path. Go back to school and you'll be much better off, IMHO. Just my 2 cents.
