Won't be easy getting a straightforward answer as it depends on the fluids--if any--and accessories/fluid lines/wiring, etc that are included...

Are you asking if someone has actually weighed one on a scale (or alternatively, weighed the car with and without the motor in it)? You might check with the stroker vendors as they have probably weighed the engine before. Failing someone like that coughing up the info, I would assume that the oft-quoted 440lb weight is about as precise as you will get.
Any particular reason why you are asking? Just curious. |

BMW Gives Us the Skinny On The New(at Press Release) V8 Power Unit for The M3
It is a well-known fact that the V8 S65 weighs less than the I6 S54. 33lbs to be exact. BMW quotes the V8 weight at 445lbs. And to all the torque naysayers,
"The second factor crucial to thrust and performance on the road, engine torque, amounts to a mighty 400 Newton-metres or 295 lb-ft at 3, 900 rpm on the new V8 power unit. And about 85 per cent of the engine’s maximum torque is available throughout the enormous engine speed range of 6,500 rpm, with 340 Newton-metres or 251 lb-ft available from just 2,000 rpm. The reality is, most modern V8s made of the same material (and using the same form of aspiration) are going to weigh about the same. Deck heights and bore spacing will vary slightly, but that is minimal. Things like an iron block or heads will obviuosly kill the weight, which is why the S54 is a pig (iron block). Also, it is possible to increase displacement of a given motor while at the same time making it lighter. I'll bet that the Coyote is lighter than the old 4.6L 4V MOD for example (I know it is heavier than the outgoing 3V MOD motor). |
