Passenger Restraint Malfunction
Has anyone gotten one of these errors? It states the restraint/airbag etc. might be faulty. It popped on last week and noone was sitting in the passenger seat.
Unfortunately, local dealer can't get me in until next monday. |

I had it. Went to the dealer 4 times before they finally figured it out.
At first they thought it was the passenger clicker into which you click you seatbelt. They replaced it. Couple days later the warning comes back on. Long story short they ended up replacing a shitload of wiring harness (which they had to order from Germany) in the front of the car and it took care of the problem. My SA said my car was the only one that's come in with this problem to his dealership. This was about 6 months ago, and no problems since. Mine's an '08 btw.

I was going to mention to check all the harnesses under the seat as Cashonly pointed out
You get the error when you disconnect the harnesses under the seat like in an aftermarket seat install application |

Like I said this came on when noone was in the seat and the seatbelt was not fastened. Mine is an '08 as well. Apr production. I am hoping it's not a huge long ordeal. Ca$hOnly would you mind PMing me your dealer info so I may refer my dealer to them if needed? Thanks! |

How do you deal with the problem? I just had a Recaro seat installed and I got this. I followed the instructions on EAS video, but still got the msg.

I can code it for you so the airbags work and no more errors. There are other methods available like aftermarket modules to wire in, but I suggest staying with that as adding hardware to the car that interferes with signals is not a good idea.

http://web.archive.org/web/200502140...s/Recaros.html You still may have to get the code cleared once, but the circuit would fake out the occupancy sensor. |

If you plan to be in the Anaheim area anytime soon, I would be happy to help with coding as an alternative.
