Taxi Cab-1, M3-0.

Went out this morning for some x-mas coffee. Spent 20 minuets finding an open Starbucks. Went in, got my coffee, and as I was walking to the door I watched in horror as a taxi backed right into my car!!! I ran outside, spilling my hot coffee all over myself, trying to get the taxi drivers attention. Well when he say me running he booked it. I jumped in the M and chased after him, but when he ran a red light nearly hitting a family in their SUV I stopped pursuit.

Great Christmas Present huh? FML!!

That's horrible. Definitely check to see whether the places you were at had cameras (stores, intersections, etc.).

Hey if he ran the red light... Go to the police and file a report. They can tap into the cameras that catch the people who run red lights and get his plate #.

Then you can catch that son of a bitch.

Oh and good moral for other drivers.

If you see that happen to your car, don't run to your car. Act like you didn't see a thing and photograph the plates of the offender.

i've had something very similar happen to me... it was a hit and run actually a long time ago with a cabbie...

with the minimal information i was able to get off of his cab, i called the cab company, spoke to a supervisor, and they were able to determine who the cabbie was based on the following;

1) area you were in
2) time that the accident happened
3) the fact that he has to at some point pull into the taxi depot, nobody is open on xmas, the damage is going to be clearly visible...

good luck to you, if you need any more input, PM me... local law enforcement is NOT going to be much help... hit and run where no injuries took place aren't on the priority list... but a taxi company with the fear of legal action will throw the driver out to the wolves...
