Ahhhh!!!! No efing way! - Rear Ended!
Well I just finished hard wiring my Escort 8500 X50, so I decided to go test it with my G/F make sure the buttons work blah blah. I go around the block pass by a CVS and it works.... great! Now I'm stop at a Red light (completely stop) light had been red for a bit.
Then I hear a screeching sound like rubber and brakes... and I just brace my self and BAM! some guy in a Pontiac G6 slams into the back of my car! Now I'm thinking oh sh*t that's it, it's totaled. Thankfully there's only a minor bend in the trunk, bumper and some scratches. While the G6 has a cracked radiator, pipes, front bumper, hood, pretty messed up, he was going fairly fast cause my neck snapped and it damn sure sounded like it. Now thankfully my G/F and I and the other driver are all fine. Yes he got the ticket. My baby is tougher than she looks so proud of her. Now the hassle of insurance battles begin . I will post pics later on of what actually happened. Sorry for the rant, I just had to get it out, I was screaming mad, but thankfully the guy at least admitted and was scared to shit. He admitted fault and apologized like 15000 times. Now that doesn't make up for it, but could've been allot worse and it wasn't so I'm thankful for that. All I can say is "Thank GOD or who ever invented seat-belts for them!". Thanks for any concern or for just reading CYA

Hope you're feeling OK tomorrow.

The 1 is really tough. I was in my car sitting a parking space waiting for my dad to get out a CVS (wierd huh?) and I see this lady in a Prius backing up. She starts to get a little too close but before I could get her attention I feel my car lunge up a little bit. I get out and this lady is pissing herself she was so scared that I was going to kill her and she just kept appologising. I looked around my bumper...and no dent. I even Feel for a paint scratch where she hit me...NOTHING! My 1 was completly unharmed, while the prius lady had this massive dent in her bumper from the corner of my car. My dad walks out and he sees this going on he talks to her. She agrees that nothing happened (at least in the eyes of the insurance company) and we go our separate ways.
Also, sorry to hear about your car. Glad to hear your safe and ok. Nice to see that some of the wieght in our cars actually went into making them strong and durable.

Yup it is, but sometimes you just need to vent. I worked long and hard to buy this metal and this happens. It's not about the car or the value but the effort that goes into finally being able to afford one and enjoying the fruits of your labor .

[IMG][/IMG] So it's close enough on the radar where I don't need the button. So I covered it and tucked it in the sun-roof motor cover for now. I'm thinking of getting a professional to cut whole just under the lights to put it there. Still thinking though. Thanks for your concern.

I am very sorry to hear about your car, isn't it only about 3-4 weeks old? You should make sure you don't have any damage underneath your bumper. The hardwire looks good, I placed mine above my mirror on the right side, it looks a bit more hidden IMO.

Having been in an accident with a 10-day-old car myself once, I can feel your pain.
My local body shop of choice did a fantastic job, and I enjoyed the car for years afterwards. May the same happen to you. |

these new cars hide damage under the skin, make sure if you get hit, you remove the body panels and check for damage, it'll be hidden from sight

Maybe it's an opportunity for a rear CF diffuser? Get something good out of it. See if you can work it out with the body shop.

Florida is still in the top 3 for having the worst drivers in the U.S. I lived in FL for 14 years and only go to Miami when I have to. I'm glad you both are okay.

Glad to hear you are ok, and hope you get to use a terrific body shop of your choice. Did you visit the Dr. for a good going over? If your neck did snap from the impact, you could be getting some pain and tightness oover the next few days. Also, make sure you can get money for the reduced value of your vehicle die to the accident.
