Fuel Pump Failure

I filled up with gas last Friday and about 1 mile down the road the car starting missing badly, I thought oh crap I got a tank of bad gas. The engine light came on and it had no power. After I got home I went out later and it seemed to run fine. Saturday after about 15 minutes of driving it started running rough again.

Took it to the dealer Monday and sure enough it was a high pressure fuel pump failure. They said they have had more than a few 1 and 3 series with the same issue. They gave me a loaner to use and I picked my up my repaired 135 Tuesday.

It is running great now and my highway mileage is 2 MPG higher than was before. A repair that actually saved me a few bucks in gas.

Good news on the increase in fuel mileage! My buddy already gets great gas mileage on his 335.

How many miles did it take for your HPFP failure?

And does anyone know if the redesigned HPFP is already in the 09 135s or if this is still an ongoing issue? My build date is 09/08

My car is in for service for what I suspect is the fuel pump. This is the second time.

approximately when did they start building 135s with the updated fuel pump? I wanna know if this is going to be a recurring problem on the 09s... prob won't add the JB3 until the fuel pump goes bad. Build date 09/2008
