Dear BMW
I wish you had never sold me this rattletrap car. It is impossible to cruise on a cold day/night without the radio on; the creaks are unbearable.
I'm doubtful that the dealership can do anything, but I'll have them look at it if I ever have enough free time. Beware squeeky b-pillar regions! 135i: sexy, fast, and annoying |

ummmm..
I don't mean to be, um, lets see, how do I put it - a 'racer snob' about this, but the 135 isn't about a quiet ride. My 135 rides rough, creeks a bit when it's cold, but is pretty solid. Take a ride in any E46 M3 and you will think better of the 135, or a slightly used 911. Also keep in mind that we don't have full door frames, which adds to this noise, especially when it's cold. We have a stiff little car that isn't super quiet - that's ok, if I wanted quiet I would have bought an infinity, or a 5 series. Now, if you want to talk creeking, lets talk about my 2007 X3.... What the hell happened to my info?? Ughh...... I drive a 135 now, got rid of the 330 a year ago... |

OMG
hmmm....I am a complete rattle, squeak, creak not allowed freak and my 135 is quiet as a mouse. No comparison to prior Hondas , Acuras in having to track down rattles etc. (though the run flats are noisy)

4500+ miles - not a peep. Zero cold weather issues.
The only rattles I have heard were from items I put in the cupholders.

I only hear some creaking when going more than > 200 km/h at the Autobahn.. but i guess this is because of the window lock.
While cruising the car is very, very quiet in comparsion to other car i owned.

B-pillars and door rattle here. no luck with dealer service either. Next step: wife drives while I sit in the back and diagnose. I will find you, no matter how long it takes, no matter how far, I will find you.

Squeak- and rattle-free here too...despite some -40C / -40F (they're the same when it's that freaking cold!) temperatures so far this winter.

Odd. I'm fairly fanatical about these types of things and haven't heard any unusual rattles, creeks, squeaks, etc. The only rattles I've heard were when I placed something hard in the plastic storage bin on the inside of the door. Work with the dealer, maybe they can find the problem.
Though, this makes me wonder if the OP's car was built during Oktoberfest or on that day where we saw pictures of high-school girls working in the factory (German equivalent of "bring your daughter to work day" I think). |

Passenger seat at times makes a noise which I plan to have checked out nexttime in the dealership for service but other than that I really like the build quality.

to the OP: if you think you're brand new 1-Series is squeeky/creeky, take a ride in my 9 year old S2000 in 30 degree weather. now THAT is a car where not everyone can drive it. it takes a special driver who doesn't care about creature comforts like a soft, quiet ride, power door locks, or even a clock for that matter. enjoy it, it can't be that bad.

I know what the B-pillar sound is... It's a sticker on the inside of the B-pillar, it's attached to the inner side of the outer/cabin-facing part of the B-Pillar. It comes unstuck and re-sticks every now and then. You can see it in the space between the top and bottom halves of the pillar..
The sound of it squeaking seriously annoyed me as well.
