Interesting - Canadian Tire is pretty reputable so I wonder.

The tire prep solutions I'm aware of are outlawed by most sanctioning bodies. ; -)

It's AVAILABLE at Canadian Tire... not rebranded by them. I chalk this up to the same crap as octane booster. You can do better.

Now... if this stuff works and softens rubber, I can use it on my RC car tires and it's probably a lot cheaper to boot!

mmm i just did a search for reviews on this product and can't find any.
Hope someone gives it a try to let us know if it works. Maybe Gill and the people at tire rack would do test on it.:iono:

Bleach does the same to rubber, and I wouldn't spray that on my tires either.

Get a decent set of winter tires and drive according to the conditions...and you'll be fine.

Some feedback from the folks at tire rack would be good - great idea.

I know nothing beats a great set of winters, which I have. Some one showed this to me and was wondering if I heard anything about, I hadn't, and I just wanted to know if other have tired it.

It's got a SEMA logo on it, so it must have made an appearance there and won some kind of recognition there?

Could be a stall in one of the tempy halls? SEMA membership doesn't necessarily indicate they show up at the annual SEMA show though. (And isn't SEMA the best stinking autoshow ever?)

Can you stud your tires in CT? If so studded snow might be what you're looking for, probably a way better solution then a spray. But I don't know how well the spray works, hence starting this thread

I can barely, just barely, hear noise from my studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 winter tires. With the audio system on, at very low levels, I can't hear the tires at all.

Their information states that it has been sold in Norway since 1985/86. I think if it was that great it would have caught on better by now.

How much is it? It might be worthwhile to have a can or two in the trunk. You never know when you might have to drive in a skating rink.

maybe maybe MAYBE it will be effective at low speeds until it wears off but i doubt it will match the reliability of a winter tire in "holy fuck" situations.

Nice find Dan, now at least no one here has to waste their money on these products. Just save it for winter tires like the narrator said  "Then you don't need to get out of the car" Best part of winer tires

Interesting that it was done back in March as a similar review appears in the issue I received yesterday. It appears that the AutoSocks might be of help to some people but not the Tyre-Grip. Of course, neither can substitute for good winter rubber.
