Help with winter tires for just one winter

Hi All,

I have gone through the various posts discussing the various options for winter tires and its been very helpful. But I an in a unusual position and would appreciate some help. I work as a consultant and am currently located in Minneapolis probably till mar next yr. So even though I need the winter tires, I dont want to spend too much on them. Was wonderig if some one can suggest a cheaper option which can be put on the existing 18'' wheels/rims.

Any insight is greatly appreiated. :iono:

Thanks,

Pratyush

Not much you can do beyond purchasing them and then selling them after the winter. Shouldn't have much of a problem finding a buyer.

I got a half-worn winter set from Craigslist. There are often a number of local options on there if it is a cold climate location.

FYI, i read on here there was an article that 1/2 worn winter tires are not very good. Even with the tread 1/2 worn the silica that makes it stick to snow was gone, so they did not work properly. So you are much

SAFER

to buy new, and sell them after.

Nothing like getting good winters to keep you safe and your loved ones.

Gill does that get me $20 off my next order? LOL kidding... but seriously Gill at tirerack.com has done a great job. My rundels were scratched and with zero questions 3 days later replacements came. They not only have the best prices but they are are super. No wonder tirerack.com does so well.
