Correct offset for 8" rear wheel

Hi,

I'm going to be fitting AP 6-piston calipers to the front of my 135i and they won't fit under the standard BMW 7.5" wheel.

After looking through lots of wheels I've decided to go for Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2s 18 x 8" front and rear. I would rather go for an 8.5" or 9" at the rear but they don't do one in anywhere near the correct offset.

So in the front I'm going 18 x 8 ET45 and I'll run a 225/40/18. The 45 offset brings the edge of the rim 10mm further out than standard.

My question is what offset I should run in the rear? My instinct was to go for an ET35 because that brings the outside of the rim 11mm further out so it matches with the 10mm the front has been moved out. On the other hand I'm going to be running a 245/35/18 in the rear so perhaps a rear offset of ET40 would be better as it only brings the rim out a further 6mm but the tire is wider than the front.

Team Dynamics can offer the 18 x 8 in either 35, 40 or 45 offsets so I just want to choose the best fitting rear.

Sorry it sounds a bit convoluted but can anybody advise?

Cheers

Jack

Do a Google search for tire calculator or wheel calculator.
You should be able to find a tool that delivers you the answer.

I think a few people on this board are running 8" wheels with 40 offsets (OZs and Beyerns).

18x8.5 +40 all around. Running 255/35 tires all around. Nice setup for stock bodied cars.

D-Force is the wheel manufactuer.
