Number/Letter Removal
Is anyone considering getting there letters removed from the back of the car? Just throwing it out there because I notice in germany where I am currently living that 50% of BMW have there numbers and letters removed.

That has been talked about a lot. Us the search and type debadge and you will find lots of posts on this subject. There are posts that even tell you how to remove the badges.
Bottom line is some like it and some don’t. Europe does it more than in the USA. On my Z4 I removed the 3.0i on the sides and left the Z4 on the back. After I have my 135i for awhile I will be able to tell if the 135i needs to go. BTW since you are in Germany, could you do me a favor? Go over to Bremerhaven, find my SGM 135i going to the West Coast USA and make sure it gets on a ship today. Thanks for your help!:drinking:

It's a personal taste issue...To me, a debadged car kind of looks stolen, like I said, personal taste. I think some people do it so others can guess what they're driving. With the twin kidneys up front, you're not fooling anyone. I wonder why debadging is so popular in Germany????

I'm keeping the the numbers...proud to say I have a 1'er. Besides...I don't even want to take the chance of messing up the finish.

Personally, I've always debadged my cars. Looks a lot cleaner to me. And I think the numbers on the BMWs have always looked cheap. I'd rather have an M3, M6, etc. or nothing. |
