Does car notify for service?

Hi!

E92 M3 here. Bought the car well serviced so haven't done any service moment yet. My iDrive is the CCC (old).
My question is, there is a number of kilometers shown on every part in the service list (oil change, brakes.. etc...)
Do I have to count these numbers alone or does the car notify when it is time?

I can't see the numbers going down on their own while I drive the car. They are fixed maybe yes?

Thanks in advance!

From what I remember the number of km goes down, at least for the brake pads. Not sure about oil as changing 3 times as often vs BMWs rec but can't see why it shouldn't do the same count down.

I seem to recall OCI decrementing at intervals of 1000 but I don’t pay close attention to that shit because 15k mile OCI is madness. Not sure about the other counters.

Ok, so I understand that it should tick down the number of kms left.
I sa that for the brake pads for example, it says "remaining distance", but for oil change for example it doesnt say anything besides 16000 kms. And the 16k are not seeming to go down.

This can be easily coded to change the OCI notification on the cluster. I'm in the camp that the oil should be changed more frequently in these cars, hence, I coded mine much-much sooner.

I think you cannot get around the limit of 30-31 resets even if you change the code. I cant find the option in bimmercode, it's likely not something accessible with that. I don't think I have tool32 or whatever lets you code DME. In any case, i track my OCI the old fashioned way; with my roll of windshield stickers at 5K intervals.

It's in NCS and it's pretty easy to change. I can show you next time.
