almost ordered a 135i today
I went by my dealer today because I wanted an intro to i-drive and I also wanted to get a good look at terra interior with the light grey headliner. I waited a bit for my CA as he was finishing a sale with another customer. He took me into their warehouse and there sat a E92 M3 (red/bamboo extended leather). It was very cool to see one, but I wasn't that excited. Could be because I don't really like the E92 that well, but I am a huge M3 fan. Anyway, I am really excited about the 1-series. Hopefully they will have one in next week so that I can see one. Odds are, I will order one. Thinking about alpine white/terra/aluminum. I'm still not totally feeling the terra interior, but I am being drawn away from black. I wasn't going to get i-drive, but am considering it now, too. I'm thinking that the odds are good that there will be a pretty slick E36 M3 sedan for sale in the near future. Maybe I'll do the E90 M3 in a few years towards the end of the model cycle, but for now I'm luvin' the ONE.

Justin,
Did you ask for a trade-in quote for your e36 M3/4? I doubt dealers will give you much, but I'm just curious to see what they give as trade-in. No doubt though that selling it privately, esp. with all your mods, will get you a whole lot more. |

The best thing about iDrive

The coral looks great with white, by the way. Not overpowering since there's still a lot of black in the interior. Just a suggestion. |

135i is far better than an E92 m3. I drove both. Only the 135i needs a few tweaks.
Bmw tweaked the 135i engine back to 306hp when they develop the 135i engine it had 400hp. But M said it needs to go back otherwise we don t sell enough M3. Alpina versions have 360hp and 500nm. With those numbers it s already faster than an M3. Imagine 400hp. lol M5 M6 here we come. Turbo s are the future. Also M will see that someday. The 135i is the drivers car from bmw at the moment. Don t let any one else tell you otherwise. |

Oh, no. The M3/4 has way too many mods to trade in. I will not dump the E36. If I don't get a fair price for it, I will not sell it. The car is too good to just "thow away' for a new one. That's the very reason I didn't sell it wen I had my E46 M3. As for the i-drive, I think I will probably get it. In fact, I will likely check every option except the steptronic, ski boot, active steering, and sat radio. I figure I can afford it, so why not. :iono: At first I thought about AW/coral, but the red just seems so dang bright. I would actually do lemon if it weren't so off the wall with AW and hard to keep clean. Thanks guys for your comments!! |
