I usually follow the horn with a birdie! Therefore if the horn was "girlie" sounding I'd feel a little unmanly! I'm amused that you asked this question!

If you find you don't like the horn, do what I did with my first Mini, a 1275 Cooper S bought in 1966. It looked so much like a shoebox on a roller skate that no one would move over for it, so I bought a Maserati air horn. I was never obstructed again.

Does the horn-call of a modern BMW bear some special significance? A bellowing Mammoth might be a fun replacement for the horn.

So, just how girlie is your horn? Can you be more specific? Is this gonna' hurt?

The single note horn on the Miata was not 'authoritative' enough so it got replaced with airhorns quickly. That would be my definition of a 'wimpy' horn, this being Wimpy of course:

Aren't all of the Horns for BMW from Hella? My E30 had a Hella horn and that thing was loud!

The horn on my E90 is pretty good, I was actually surprised how loud it was the fist time I used it on my 330i. Hopefully they use the same one.
Does this mark the end of thread ideas before the car comes out? |

The horn on my motorcycle originally reminded one of a golf cart however I found auto shops carry generic horns(132db Fiamm "Freeway Blaster")for around 16$. I don't know if the ones in BMW's are as easily replaced but mine took about 5 minutes to swap out.
