Extremely torn
Ok, so I have owned 2 E36 M3's and one E46 M3. I know that I need to move onto something other than the E36 M3 that I have right now. I have been holding out and waiting, but I need to make a decision soon. I have found a 2006 M3 with comp package that I really like and I have some really sweet wheels to put on an E46 M3, but something just keeps bringing me back to the 135i. Part of me just wants to move onto something newer and I am afraid that if I get the M3, I'll be kicking myself. I've seen some thread of people giving up on the 1er, and I'm needing some reassurance. Anyone know if my kids will fit in the back of this thing halfway comfortably in their car seats?

Justin - have you seen some of the other threads on whether to buy a E46 M3 or a 135i? I think they're in this forum. Give me a sec . . .

yeah, I've read through them before. It just muddies the water for me. I loved my E46 M3 SMG and I sold it because it had enough miles on it that I thought it was best to sell it. Maybe I'm just feeling down about not getting to see this thing while knowing that I really need to make a decision soon. I guess I started a pointless thread I pretty sure that you guys will pick my spirits up. Does AW look good on the 1er or what!!!

the demo cars should be arriving soon. i think one test drive will make your decision clear either way.

I'm not much help but just to let you know if I didn't have an E46 m3 with SMG that I'm keeping it would be a real hard choice. honestly a comp package E46 M3 would probably be my choice. just such a great balanced package especially with just a few cheep suspension mods. but if your more interested in straight line performance the 135i with a $600 dollar SSTT will kill the M3

If I didn't get this 135i, my original plan was the get an Interlagos Blue ZCP M3, 6sp.
The only thing keeping me from doing so was that I had two e46s, then an e90. It seemed strange to go back to e46s... Then they announced the 135i. |

I was looking at a M3 CS in Carbon Black with Cinnamon Leather, or I was gonna order an E92 m3 in Alpine White with Black interior. I also went to CarMax and bought a used Audi RS4 only to return it cause I didn't like it, and it felt like something was wrong with the suspension. I needed something i could use everyday, and anything with 19's just won't work in the Tri-State Area (i've just found this out the hard way with too many bent rims of mine and my friends).

If comfort is a concern, the 135i may be the better choice with its more balanced suspension. The M3 Competition may be harsh when toting the kids around town, albeit roomier.

I'm guessing the 135i will be a better daily driver than the e46M3 with comp. package. Backseat space will probably be tight and not as convenient to get to (both being coupes). I would wait for the 1er to be available for test drives before making a final decision.
BTW, I hope you end up keeping your AW m3/4. I've seen pics of it on bf.c, and it's an amazing car. |

Thanks for the comments guys!! Cal, yeah my M3/4 is pretty cool but it has lost a bit of luster for me as I have owned it for close to 5 years now. Really, I've gotten old enough and moved to an area of town with such poor roads that it beats me up. Plus when I have to take referring dentists out to lunch or somewhere it just isn't comfortable for them and I feel bad. My kids don't ride in the car that often but I want to make sure it's possible to take them in the thing somewhat comfortably. I don't want to worry about my 2-yr-old's feet on the back of a lemon leather sport seat  I know I need to just test drive it, then I need to decide if I'm going to keep the M3/4 or sell it to reduce a bit of debt. Thanka again for the words of encouragement. Maybe I need to just plan on keeping the M3, buy a 135i with a dinan upgrade....that would just be the ultimate!! Plus, I'd be looking at having a 3-car fleet of AW BMW's :eyebulge:
