CF Roof...Ceramic or PPF?
Which have you chosen to protect your CF hood (or neither)?
My PPF guy is asking $500 to PPF the roof while the ceramic I could do myself. I have read the horror story of the ceramic reaction to the M3 owner's CF roof that caused the white discoloration. I assume this was a very rare occurrence. My main concern is not rock chips, but discoloration. The car will also be garaged and driven 4-5k miles a year and I plan to keep it for 5+ years. Which would you recommend? |

I PPF'd the front leading edge (8") of the roof that comes with the A-Pillar XPEL/SunTek kit and had it ceramic coated. This wasn't special treatment for the carbon fiber roof as I was having film placed on other parts of the car and ceramic coated the entire car. There's really no need to do anything special given your use case. 4-5k miles and garaged = very limited exposure to UV rays and the elements.

Just leave it. No needs for either.

Both. PPF first then ceramic. You'll never have to worry about damage to the roof again.

I wouldn't use Gtechniq on the roof unless it's over PPF: https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=30121844
