Is it true all E92 M3s come standard with carbon fiber roofs?

*New here* but I read somewhere that all E92 M3s come standard with carbon fiber roofs and the sunroof was the option so they all have either or but I'm looking at one for sale that does not have a carbon fiber roof or a sunroof so now I'm a little confused and just looking for any knowledge that could be helpful

Sounds like you’re looking at a e90 m3 sedan. None came with a carbon roof. Slick top or sunroof.

Make sure the VIN starts with WBS....

Can't imagine a situation where someone would paint over a carbon roof, but plenty where someone would put "M3" wheels and fenders and other parts on a non-M car.

When these cars were first launched in 2007, it was possible to order an E92 M3 with a sunroof, in which case it came with a normal painted roof, not a Carbon Fibre roof.

In the UK, 4 out of 5,577 E92 M3's sold had the sunroof option.

I believe the Sunroof option was withdrawn for the E92 by the time of LCI, so all LCI E92's would have come with a Carbon Roof.

Sunroof was a no cost option.

Many choose the cf.

Possible it's a E93 incorrectly listed as a E92?

In the US atleast they did sell LCI cars with the sunroof option. I have an LCI Competition with sunroof.

Then I'd guess the clear on carbon roof was failing and they either painted it or had it wrapped. Wonder if it's this same car:

From that thread this made me laugh considering the market today:

Yes, for sure a Carmax Tax. But then again, savvy buyers have never been the demographic Carmax appeals to, IMO.

I made that original thread..

Funny because as I read the title on this thread, I remembered that I saw one like that as well. Wonder if it's the same car.

It was an alpine white E92 M3 if I remember correctly. Maybe the original owner wanted the roof to be color matched?

Should be more room in a slicktop car than a sunroof car, unless you're so tall that you're bending your head to the side to fit out the open hole.

Was gonna say, my previous E92 was carbon, current one is sunroof. Feel like less room in the sunroof (but it also feels like my seat isn't going all the way down, so not 100% sure).

I'm (only) 6'0, but I have short legs and a long torso.

Maybe that’s my problem, I feel like my seat doesn’t go down as much as my previous E90 did. And that also had a sunroof.
