2008 M3 Cab - Deals?
Our local dealer has 5 08 M3's on the lot - at least a couple have been there since this last summer. We are contemplating trading in our 08 335 Cab that we leased in June 08 for one of the 08 M3 Cabs on their lot.
The sticker is 74.5K. They offered us 4,700 off. I think that is crazy for an "old" car now that they are obviously not moving in this market. I went out of town and happened to talk to another dealer who was knocking on the door of invoice on a similar car. So, I called our dealer back and told them that and they said they just could't do that. Now, Im guessing he will be calling me back in the next day or so to see if we can make it work, but are they crazy!? I offered 66K...I dont want to go higher because I don't feel this market warrants it. As I told him, I have paid more than MSRP, I have paid MSRP, etc, but this is not that type of market and I believe paying more over invoice is crazy. |

Try to find someone to take over your lease. If you traded it in, you will take a serious, serious hit on that.

He said they couldn't get to invoice or below "on this car"...what the hell does that mean? Why can some dealers do it and others cannot? I figure that car will be sitting on the lot for a while longer...so it would be in their interest to at least unload it while we are interested because in a few months they will have to heavily discount it anyways, right!? |

Also, I remember once learning about all the different "prices" that come into play with cars and dealerships. Invoice is not what they actually pay for it. Isn't there a number below invoice that is their "cost". How can I figure that out as well as the 08 invoice numbers? Also, I must say I belong to several forums and this one is a wealth of info on M3 stuff. Very impressive forum here. |

I got $1,000 under invoice on a fully loaded ($81k+) '08 SS/Beige convert with MDCT from European Motorcars last November and that was a car they had to go get in El Paso. They should be falling all over themselves to move one of their remaining stock units. Talk to Jonathan (he's been there forever and is very good. He completed my entire deal over the phone). They quoted me invoice the first time I called out of the blue. I would be surprised if you couldn't get $2-3k under invoice from Jonathan.
